Elder’s Journal
December 2006 Summary
The elders held three meetings in December and agreed to adjourn until January 9, 2007. Elder meetings began with a devotional followed by prayer for specific needs in the body of CCC. Administrative issues requiring frequent monitoring and action are typically the first order of business after the devotion and prayer time. A summary of key issues of that nature, discussed in December, are found below:
- Giving and attendance information
CCC finished 2006 approximately Average weekly attendance for December was approximately 457.
- Mike and Kim Bautista were affirmed as new members of CCC.
Specific Elder Board business, outside of the routine items mentioned above, which arose during December, is summarized below:
- The Sr. Pastor Search Team conducted a telephone interview with a prospective candidate. The conversation was productive and the team will pursue further information and request reference letters from the prospective candidate.
- The elders utilized the time in December to discuss the qualifications for the Sr. Pastor, and also engaged in discussions of ministry/leadership philosophy which were prompted by recent interactions that the Search Team, the CCC staff, and the elder board had with prospective Sr. Pastor candidates.
