Sharing Ministry Opportunities |

The Samaritan Team wants to share opportunities with the body for service, giving and prayer within our community.
Within the Samaritan TeamVolunteer Opportunities:
- Liason to partner ministries: We are seeking someone to contact each ministry we work with several times a year, update their needs lists on the website, and publicize these needs to the body.
- Special project coordinator: We are looking for a person(s) interested in planning and carrying out a simple service project once or twice a year to invole the body in helping the poor in practical ways. (example-a winter coat drive)
- Facilitator for the Good Cents class- We are seeking someone to lead this class on Biblical stewardship. This program is taught using a DVD teaching series and workbook

Volunteer Opportunities: - Cook dinner- Use the food the shelter has on hand or bring your own. This opportunity is appropriate for individuals, families, or groups, and can be either a one time project or a more regular commitment. Weekend cooks are especially needed.
- Substitute receptionist -to cover one afternoon a week
- Thrift store clerk- 2-4 hour shifts, Monday-Saturday
- Thrift Store donation sorter
- Food box assembler- assemble boxes of donated groceries to give to needy families
- Bible study leader- lead a simple Bible study with the men
- Mentor- The shelter is seeking men to work with longer term residents and those in their transitional housing program to develop friendships and accountability
- People willinlg to invite the residents to go to church with them
- Painters- Several rooms need painting. Exterior painting is also needed.
- Project coordinator-someone with carpentry and electrical know how to coordinate the efforts of volunteer work teams
- Maintenance- The shelter has an ongoing list of repairs and upgrades that are needed.

Prayer needs: - Prayer for resources/staff to re-start chemical dependancy recovery program
- Prayer for the residents for changed lives
- Prayer for finances
- Prayer for volunteers
- Prayer for the staff
- Prayer for leadership
At Shepherds Inn- 525-2014
Volunteer Opportunities: - Board Members- Attend monthly board meetings, pray about, and make ministry decisions. This is currently a pressing need.
- Relief houseparent(s)- to supervise the facility during the regular houseparents weekends off, and other times as needed.
- Gardening volunteers-to help with routine yardwork
- Handyman - willing to do small repairs and upkeep
- Grant writer to assist the ministry in locating and applying for appropriate grants
- People to share a craft or skill with the girls. This can be a one time or a regular opportunity.
- Prayer partners are being sought to pray for individual residents and the ministry as a whole
- CCC Youthquake does frequent ministry projects for Shephard's Inn, including baby showers for the new moms. Contact Pastor Kevin Odette (524-5433) for more information.
