John 12:32 "If I am lifted up, I will draw all men to Myself" Psalm 34:3 "O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!"

John 12:32 "If I am lifted up I will draw all men to Myself." Verse 33 explains that Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death He would die, lifted up on a cross in public execution. The puzzling thing is how such a horrible death, used to execute common criminals, could attract people to Christ. The answer is the gospel, the "good news" that in dying Christ paid the penalty for our sins and provided the basis upon which God forgives those who place their faith in Him. Christ Community Church exists to proclaim this message. We want to exalt, "to lift up," Jesus Christ by proclaiming this promise of forgiveness to our friends, neighbors, coworkers, our community and world.

Psalm 34:3 "O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." As those who know God's forgiveness in Christ our lives ought to be marked by joy, peace, humility, thanksgiving, and, perhaps most of all, worship. We want to worship God in ways that are worthy of Him, both as we gather together in corporate celebration and as we live our lives as individuals. We want to help each other honor God and bring hope and help to those around us. We want our prayer, our singing, our work, our conversation, our business dealings, our relationships, all that we are and all that we have, to be consistent with the love and forgiveness that we have experienced in Christ.
