Christ Community Church began in 1977, founded by pastor George Marriott and several families.

Under four successive pastors, George Mariott, Richard Spencer, David Gibson, and Sam Petitfils,  we have grown from a group of about thirty to a congregation of over five hundred.

We initially worshipped together in the Senior Citizens Center on Basalt Street, then at the Developmental Workshop, and after 1986 at University Place on Science Center Drive.

The church purchased property in 1992 and began construction on our own facility in 1994. CCC moved into our current building at 5742 S. Park on July 2, 1995. On June 1st, 2001 we began construction of an 8,000 square foot classroom addition. In the near future we hope to construct a dedicated sanctuary with addition classroom and parking space.

More About Our Present Facility

In 1990 we determined to secure a facility that would allow for long term growth and expanded ministry. In 1992, after much prayer, research, and deliberation, acreage was purchased on Park Road (South 5th West), paid for at the time of purchase through voluntary contributions.

Giving to the "Cornerstone Project" continued and by summer of 1994, we had raised $325,000 toward the purchase of an existing facility or the construction of a new facility at the Park Road location. Having exhausted all purchase options, we engaged Eaton-Mahoney Associates to draw up a building plan and selected Pacific West Construction Company of Idaho Falls as our builder.

Ground breaking took place on September 5, 1994. Funds for the $1.2 million project were raised as members of the congregation and friends of CCC purchased fixed interest rate bonds from the church.

We just completed a new addition (Phase Two) to our current structure, an 8,000 square foot building with dedicated space for our elementary education and youth ministry. This building has been built with cash donations. The building officially opened September 14, 2003. We are very excited to have this additional space as it also allows us to designate more classrooms for adult use as well in our previous space.

The next project for our facility will be the construction of a dedicated sanctuary. Below is the proposed facility design which includes a sanctuary and additional classrooms.

We at Christ Community Church rejoice in God's goodness to us in providing this facility. Our heartfelt intention is to use it in ways that bring glory to God, build up the body of Christ in our community, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
